THANKS!!!

Well, the 11th Annual Tim Gavin Downriver Race and Harpers Ferry Outdoor Festival is in the books, and it turned out to be a really nice overall event! We had 54 silent auction sponsors with over 220 items up for bid, ranging from NRS straps to a new kayak, and everything in-between. It is overwhelming to have this much gear donated to the festival from our sponsors year after year, we could not do it w/o the support!

Thank you to River Riders, Butts Tubes and River and Trail Outfitters for all the support, from donations to the silent auction, to supporting the Annual Doah Cup race for the river guides back in May. Many thanks to River and Trail Outfitters for providing the climbing wall @ the festival and for the racer shuttles to and from the river. Lee Bailey has been in this business a long time, he has supported the HFOF from the beginning, as well as many other environmentally geared endeavours over the years, we all thank him for his generous support.

Thank you to all of the musicians that graced the KOA stage, you were all amazing and the crowds enjoyed it. The food vendors were great, Barbacue or Indian food, you could not go wrong~!

Thanks to all that raced and attended the festival, the weather held out for an amazing evening. Supporting our benefactors is what this is ultimately all about, a huge thank you to Friends of the Blackwater, what a canyon! Who knows what would have happened there w/o FOB intervention, Friends of the Cheat, this canyon is once again alive, thanks to FOC, a heartfelt thanks to Keith Pfitzer for all of his hard work, he is in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Friends of the Shenandoah for thier work to solve the same sex fish mystery and monitoring water quality in the Shenandoah, and WVRC as they deal with the Marcellus Shale/ natural gas crisis about to descend on the Mountain State, quite possibly as devestating as mountain top removal, just ask PA.

To Tim Gavin, thank you for your friendship, the unforgettable memories, your sense of adventure and leadership. You were taken from us way too early, you are missed by all that knew you, but not forgotten.
